The microwave plate goes in the dishwasher
How to clean a microwave turntable
Most glass turntables are dishwasher-safe. Lift it out once it's cool, wash it on the top rack or in hot soapy water, and clean the roller ring too.
Hot glass can crack in cold water; let it cool first. Washing-up liquid only.
Never mix cleaning products. Bleach plus ammonia, vinegar or other acids releases toxic gases. Use one product at a time, rinse between them, ventilate, and unplug appliances before you clean them.
Step by step
- Let the plate cool
- Lift the glass plate and roller ring out
- Wash in hot soapy water or the dishwasher if the manual allows
- Wipe the floor of the microwave and refit
