Your shower curtain can go in the washer
How to clean a shower curtain liner
Most plastic and fabric liners can be machine-washed on a gentle warm cycle with your normal detergent and two old towels to scrub them, then hung back up to drip-dry.
No tumble dryer for plastic liners. Use one product per wash: never add bleach and vinegar to the same load.
Never mix cleaning products. Bleach plus ammonia, vinegar or other acids releases toxic gases. Use one product at a time, rinse between them, ventilate, and unplug appliances before you clean them.
Step by step
- Check the care label and unhook the liner
- Put it in the drum with two old towels
- Add your usual detergent and run a gentle cycle at 30-40°C
- Skip the spin or use a low spin
- Hang it straight back on the rail to drip-dry
