The oven setting that loosens grease with water
How to use the steam clean function on an oven
Steam or AquaClean modes use a cup of water in the oven base at low heat to soften grime. Run it, wait for it to cool, and wipe the loosened grease.
Hot steam burns: wait until the oven is cool before wiping. Don't add any chemical cleaner to the water.
Never mix cleaning products. Bleach plus ammonia, vinegar or other acids releases toxic gases. Use one product at a time, rinse between them, ventilate, and unplug appliances before you clean them.
Step by step
- Pour the amount of water the manual says (often 300-400 ml) into the cold oven floor or reservoir
- Select Steam Clean or AquaClean
- After the cycle, let the oven cool
- Wipe with a soft sponge and dry the oven
