The fridge holiday setting you didn't know about
How to use the vacation mode on a fridge
Many fridge-freezers have a Holiday or Vacation mode that keeps the fridge around 15°C to save energy while the freezer keeps running. Empty the fridge first.
Food safety: don't keep perishable food in the fridge while holiday mode is on.
Never mix cleaning products. Bleach plus ammonia, vinegar or other acids releases toxic gases. Use one product at a time, rinse between them, ventilate, and unplug appliances before you clean them.
Step by step
- Empty the fridge compartment of perishable food
- Select Holiday or Vacation in the control panel
- Keep the doors closed
- Switch back to normal a day before you need it
