One open box beats every fridge spray
How to deodorize a fridge
Clean the fridge with warm water and bicarbonate of soda, then leave an open container of bicarbonate of soda on a shelf and replace it every 3 months.
Don't use bleach or strong solvents where food is stored; they leave residue and odour.
Never mix cleaning products. Bleach plus ammonia, vinegar or other acids releases toxic gases. Use one product at a time, rinse between them, ventilate, and unplug appliances before you clean them.
Step by step
- Throw out old food and wipe spills
- Wash shelves with 1 tablespoon bicarbonate of soda per litre of warm water
- Dry everything
